Shurong Chang, MD PHD

Dr. Chang received her B.S. with thesis honor distinction from Peking University (also known as Beijing University) in Beijing, China. After obtaining her M.D. and Ph.D. degrees with honors from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Dr. Chang moved to Northern California to join her family. She completed her internship in preliminary Internal Medicine at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, followed by residency in Dermatology at University of California Davis Medical Center. Dr. Chang has published in high-profile journals including Cell and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Chang is fluent in English and Mandarin.

Sunil S. Dhawan, MD

Dr. Dhawan is a graduate of San Francisco State University and the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at U.C.S.F followed by a residency in dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Miami, where he was also Chief Resident. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Dermatology. Dr. Dhawan is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Dermatology. He also is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the Stanford University, Department of Dermatology, where he teaches dermatology residents and medical students. In addition to English, he speaks Hindi.

Erik S. Cabral, MD FACMS

Dr. Cabral went to Stanford for college, medical school, & residency. He has Bay Area roots since he was born in San José, CA. Dr. Cabral completed his Mohs fellowship with Dr. Richard G. Bennett at UCLA.

Dr. Cabral has treated thousands of patients over the past 10 years of practice in the Bay Area. Dr. Cabral specializes in skin cancer prevention and treatment, including micrographic surgery and reconstruction. He has published and presented over 40 scientific articles on melanoma and skin cancer. Dr. Cabral is a proud member of The Olympic Club and is an avid golfer and tennis player.

Olivia Martinez, MSN, FNP-C

Olivia joined Center for Dermatology in 2016. She is a board certified Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining the Center for Dermatology, she worked as a nurse practitioner in primary care at a community health based clinic in Bakersfield, California for 18 months. She also has a diverse medical background working as a registered nurse for 9 years in medical-surgical and emergency care departments.

She earned a Master of Science degree in Nursing from Holy Names University in Oakland, California, and a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from California State University in Bakersfield, California. She is also a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has a deep passion in the field of dermatology, and provides care for a variety of cosmetic and medical dermatology conditions. She looks forward to assisting you and your family with all your skin care needs.

Jaymie Vasquez, RN

Jaymie received her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences at California State University of East Bay in 2017. She then continued her studies to complete her nursing degree at Roseman University in 2020. Since working for Center For Dermatology, Jaymie loves getting to know her patients and making sure their needs are met. Her goal is to make patients feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. Jaymie is trained and certified with Photomedex XTRAC laser that is used to treat patients with psoriasis, dermatitis and vitiligo. She is also trained with our newest microneedling radiofrequency machine, the Pixel8-RF.

Rachel Carandang R.N.

Rachel received an AA degree in Biology with an emphasis in Allied Health from Chabot College in 2007. She continued on and received her AA degree in Registered Nursing from Ohlone College in 2010. Rachel has experience in medical, surgical, neonatal, mental health, and home health care. She joined our practice in 2012 where she was trained and certified to treat patients with our PhotoMedex XTRAC Laser. She continues her education in Dermatology nursing and our other cosmetic laser treatments.

Lindsay Daly, PA-C

Lindsay is a California-licensed Physician Assistant board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Lindsay graduated from MCPHS University Boston, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Premedical Studies in 2018 and a Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2021.

Lindsay finds great reward in treating the dermatologic conditions of her patients. During her training, she volunteered for the Sun Safety Program at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Through this public health mission, Lindsay provided free skin cancer screenings and patient education to underserved communities of greater Boston. During her training, Lindsay also rotated in a plastic surgery setting, which solidified her passion for aesthetic medicine.

In her free time, Lindsay enjoys exploring the West Coast, trying new food, painting, and spending time with her family.

Phuong Nguyen, PA-C

Phuong Nguyen graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam, in 2011. She specialized in Otorhinolaryngology (Ear, Nose & Throat) and worked as a resident for 3 years before moving to the United States in 2014. To continue her passion to practice medicine in this new country, Phuong pursued and earned the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Utah in 2020.

Board-certified in the state of California, Phuong Nguyen has been working in primary care to serve the Vietnamese community in San Jose. At the same time, Phuong has also received intensive professional training in aesthetic medicine. She is an advanced botox and filler injector with many years of experience. She enjoys combining her knowledge of facial anatomy and injection technique with her unique aesthetic perspective to make a positive impact on people’s appearance. Phuong joined the Center for Dermatology in 2022 and has been practicing both general and cosmetic dermatology. Phuong is fluent in English and Vietnamese. Beside medicines, she loves fashion, cuisine, architecture and designing.

Brittany West, PA-C

Brittany is a California-licensed Physician Assistant who is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Brittany received her undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin in 2012 and completed the Masters Physician Assistant Program at Drexel University in Philadelphia in 2017.

Brittany gained clinical experience in dermatology prior to PA school, where she developed her passion for dermatology. After PA school, she worked in emergency medicine for several years before transitioning into dermatology. Brittany is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.

Outside of work, Brittany enjoys spending time with family, exploring the Bay Area with her dog, making jewelry, and riding horses.

Tiffany Nguyen, PA-C

Tiffany is a California-licensed Physician Assistant who is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiological Science and received her Master of Physician Assistant Practice degree from Keck School of Medicine of USC in 2023. Upon graduating, she was inducted into Pi Alpha, the national honor society for PAs.

Prior to PA school, Tiffany gained clinical experience working as a medical assistant in a dermatology and Mohs surgery clinic for five years. As a PA student, she additionally completed a 10-week elective rotation in dermatology, which reinforced her passion for the field.

Tiffany is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She is thrilled to join the Center for Dermatology team to help provide dermatologic care in the community she grew up in. She speaks English and Vietnamese. In her free time, she loves trying new food and dessert spots.
